BHARTI Invested over $2M in Quickscrum for agile project management suits
Mrugesh Panchal

Introduction

After a decade of experience in the IT industry—supporting enterprises of all sizes in developing digital solutions and driving value creation—BHARTI’s founder, in 2015, became convinced of adopting a product-led growth strategy.

To tap into the rapidly expanding market for agile project management tools in the IT industry, BHARTI brought together a team of dedicated experts and partnered with leading agile coaches from around the world and decided to invest over $2M for the entire development.

This vision and commitment ultimately gave rise to Quickscrum.

Initial Years

Mr. Mrugesh Panchal has been at the forefront of Quickscrum’s operations since its inception, shaping the overall strategy for growth.

As the company’s first self-funded SaaS product, it demanded extensive knowledge building—both at the team level and individually.

In the early years, the strategic focus was on developing products tailored to process frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe, with the long-term vision of expanding into the broader organisational productivity space, addressing the needs of CXOs, teams, and individuals alike.

Key Challenges to Solve

The Quickscrum team identified several key challenges faced by its target audience that needed to be addressed.

  • Fragmented Project Visibility

    • Teams often use multiple tools/spreadsheets → no single source of truth for tasks, progress, or priorities.

  • Inefficient Agile Practices

    • Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid frameworks are not implemented properly, leading to missed deadlines, scope creep, and wasted effort.

  • Poor Collaboration Across Distributed Teams

    • Remote/global teams struggle with communication, backlog alignment, and sprint planning.

  • Lack of Real-time Reporting & Insights

    • Managers don’t have instant visibility into velocity, burndown charts, or blockers → late interventions.

  • Scaling Agile Across the Enterprise

    • Large organisations can’t easily standardise or scale agile practices across multiple teams and projects.

 SaaS as a Solution

  • Centralised Agile Platform → One tool for Scrum, Kanban, hybrid workflows, and backlog management.

  • End-to-End Agile Project Lifecycle → From sprint planning to release tracking, fully digitised.

  • Real-Time Reporting & Dashboards → Velocity, burndown, WIP limits, and predictive analytics.

  • Enhanced Collaboration → Distributed teams can align via shared boards, tasks, and live updates.

  • Scalable Agile Adoption → Supports multiple teams and enterprise-level agile frameworks.

Conclusion

While it did not contribute substantial commercial value to BHARTI’s portfolio, the experience proved highly rewarding from a learning perspective, greatly enhancing the team’s knowledge and expertise in SaaS business models.
